A Compliance-Ready IT Team for a Listed Group
Listed Financial Services Group
The relationship
A publicly listed financial services group had decided to rebuild its IT function from the ground up: new office infrastructure, a modern endpoint-security posture, and tighter integration with its fintech payment rails. Given its obligations as a listed entity, half-measures were never on the table. The group turned to MixWork to assemble a team that could meet operational and compliance demands from the outset, not grow into them over time.
The opportunity
The group’s IT capability had accumulated rather than been built. Work was spread across a rotating cast of contractors, and no single team owned infrastructure, security, or the day-to-day coordination with the company’s Singapore-based Security Operations Centre. What it needed was a complete, compliance-trained IT team covering infrastructure, endpoint security, and fintech integration, delivered to a defined budget and a clear reporting structure, and on a timeline that listed-company governance would not allow to slip. There was one further requirement: the team had to sit within an easy 1.5-hour flight of Singapore, so departmental leaders and vendors could travel down often, not only to train the team but to work shoulder to shoulder with them.
Our approach
MixWork opened with a thorough scoping exercise covering the group’s infrastructure needs, its security and compliance obligations, and the existing lines of coordination with its Singapore SOC. From that foundation we built a seven-person manpower plan and, working alongside the group’s leadership, defined role-level KPIs, reporting lines, and HR audit trails aligned to listed-company governance. Every candidate then completed a custom technical assessment, deliberately vendor- and AI-agnostic, so it measured real competence rather than familiarity with a particular tool, followed by a behavioural evaluation to confirm each hire could operate calmly and correctly inside a regulated, audit-ready environment.
The solution
MixWork recruited compliance-trained cybersecurity professionals and infrastructure specialists with the specific fintech payment-systems experience these roles required, favouring candidates whose working style would sit comfortably alongside the group’s SOC team and governance culture. All seven were engaged under MixWork’s Employer of Record model, with HR administration and compliance handled on the group’s behalf, allowing it to stand up a full IT function without building any additional local employment infrastructure.
The workspace
The team is based in a secure, dedicated MixWork facility a short 1.5-hour flight from Singapore, so the group’s leaders can visit regularly to train and work directly with them. The space is built for a regulated financial environment: high-speed connectivity, business-grade firewalls, attendance monitoring, private meeting rooms, and full amenities that give visiting staff a professional base of their own. The team also joins MixWork’s regular learning workshops, AI sessions, and team events.
Ongoing support
MixWork’s involvement carries well past onboarding. Bi-monthly check-ins, formal performance management, and continuous feedback keep the team aligned with the group’s standards, while a considered benefits and perks package supports morale and long-term retention. We also brief the team on cross-cultural collaboration and communication norms, which makes remote management markedly easier for the group and lifts everyday productivity. All equipment is provisioned and maintained end to end, with leased, MDM-secured laptops kept current with approved security and AI software.
