MixWork vs Remote for Hiring in Indonesia (2026)
By the MixWork Team · Last updated 1 August 2026
Remote publishes the clearest pricing in the category: USD 699 per employee per month for Indonesia, with no setup fees, no deposits and no minimum headcount. It is also the highest published headline fee here, and its device service is fulfilled by a third party with no published delivery timeline. MixWork is Indonesia-focused, with in-region devices and an on-the-ground HR manager included.

Where Remote is the stronger choice — and it is a real list
Pricing transparency, unmatched in the category. An Indonesia-specific rate published on the Indonesia page, plus explicit commitments to no platform, onboarding or setup fees, no upfront deposits and no minimum headcount. Very few providers publish all four.
No deposit. Better for your working capital than providers requiring one to two months up front.
A dedicated human at the base tier. A dedicated onboarding specialist and in-house local experts are included rather than gated behind enterprise.
Startup pricing and broad reach. A published 15% discount for startups and social-purpose organisations, across many more countries than we cover.
Where MixWork is different, and why it matters
1. Devices we hold, at a price we publish
Remote’s Device Management is fulfilled by Fleet, a third-party provider, and as at 1 August 2026 Remote publishes no delivery timeline for any region and no equipment price. We hold devices in Singapore and Jakarta, image them ourselves, and publish the terms — from USD$99 per device / month, three-month minimum, no deposit, accidental damage covered, and a loaner so nobody waits. Detail on the MixWork Managed IT page.
2. Somebody in Indonesia whose job is your team
Remote describes itself as being like your own local HR team, referring to its internal specialists. Its published product range does not include a named HR manager assigned to your team in Indonesia, a physical office, dispute resolution, or performance and attendance monitoring. Those four are exactly what Total Care 360 provides as standard.
3. Practical scheduling certainty
Remote publishes a payroll cut-off on the 10th of the month and no numeric Indonesia onboarding commitment. Neither is a flaw — they are just constraints most buyers discover when scheduling a start date rather than when comparing providers. We confirm dates in writing per engagement.
4. We only do compliant permanent employment
We engage people as full-time permanent employees on compliant Indonesian contracts, and nothing else. That is narrower than Remote’s range by design: it is the structure that carries the least misclassification exposure for anyone working as part of your team.
How we compare, and how these claims are substantiated
This page compares published commercial terms, not service quality. Every figure attributed to Remote was read directly from Remote’s own published pages on 1 August 2026, and each source is listed at the end of this page. We hold copies of those pages as they appeared on that date. Our full comparison methodology and disclaimers sets out the standards we apply.
We compare like with like. Where the two offerings are not directly comparable, we say so rather than implying an advantage.
“Not published” means exactly that. Where we note that Remote does not publish something, we mean it was not on Remote’s public pages on 1 August 2026. It is not a statement that Remote cannot or does not provide it.
We make no claim about Remote’s service quality. We have not used customer complaints or negative review commentary to argue our case.
We name where Remote is stronger. A comparison that finds no merit in the alternative is not a fair comparison, and would not help you decide.
Figures go out of date. Third-party pricing and terms change without notice and we do not monitor them continuously. Verify current terms against Remote’s own pages before you contract.
Spotted something inaccurate or out of date? Email support@mixwork.co with the statement and a link to the correct source, and we will verify and correct or remove it promptly. That invitation applies to competitors as much as customers.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Remote charge for Indonesia?
USD 699 per employee per month, published directly on Remote’s Indonesia country page, with Indonesian payroll-only at USD 29 per employee per month (accessed 1 August 2026). Remote also publishes no platform, onboarding or setup fees, no upfront deposits except in rare high-risk circumstances, and no minimum headcount. That is the clearest published pricing of any provider we reviewed, and we would not argue otherwise.
Is the USD 599 figure for Remote correct?
No. That figure circulates on comparison and affiliate sites but does not appear on Remote’s own pricing page, which shows USD 699 with no annual-commitment discount. The only published discount is a flat 15% for startups and social-purpose organisations. Check the provider’s own page rather than an aggregator.
How does Remote handle laptops for an Indonesian team?
Remote’s Device Management product page states that fulfilment is provided by Fleet, a third-party provider of IT equipment rental and logistics. As at 1 August 2026 Remote publishes no delivery timeline for any region and no equipment pricing. MixWork holds devices in Singapore and Jakarta, images them in-house, and publishes its terms: from USD$99 per device / month, three-month minimum, no deposit, accidental damage covered, loaner while repairs happen.
How fast can Remote onboard someone in Indonesia?
Remote publishes no numeric onboarding commitment for Indonesia — its page states it can help you get someone started “fast” and notes timing depends on document submission and registration with local authorities. It also publishes a payroll cut-off on the 10th of the month, and three additional days for non-nationals requiring a right-to-work assessment. That cut-off is a practical constraint on start dates worth planning around.
Does MixWork offer contractor management or contractor-of-record?
No. We engage people only as full-time, permanent employees on compliant Indonesian employment contracts. If you need contractor or freelancer management, Remote offers that and we do not. Our position is that for anyone who works like a member of your team, employment is the lower-risk structure in Indonesia, because misclassification is assessed on the substance of the working relationship rather than the wording of the agreement.
